S6 have enjoyed baking a variety of treats as a way of further enhancing our literacy, numeracy and Independence skills.
Students follow recipe instructions in written and oral format and their independence is promoted by having a clear role throughout the lesson.
We have been looking at using scales to measure weight of ingredients needed and using jugs to measure the volume.
Literacy skills are assessed through questioning and answering and students enjoy participating in a recap of their cookery session at the end.
But most of all we enjoy eating the yummy treats.
