J3 enjoyed play based learning activities on their animal topic, “All creatures great and small”, during January and February.
We helped create our own vets’ practice in our role play area. We gave our ideas for what we needed in the vets. We had wonderful opportunities to practice our reading and writing skills, by having our own name badges to show which vet was on call. We also used a check list to help decide what was wrong with the animals who were sick. We developed literacy and numeracy skills through topic based table top activities and target work tasks. We extended our learning through music, movement and sensory activities, and even got to meet some more unusual creatures with a visit from “Wee Critters”. Please enjoy looking through our photos.
