During the month of October the pupils in J2 explored fruit and vegetables that are harvested in Autumn through a play based approach. We set up a fruit and vegetable shop in our role play corner which had a mix of real fruit and vegetables, the smell was lovely!! The children also had the opportunity to explore the different patterns and textures of the fruit and vegetables by making prints using paint.
During group work the pupils in J2 used their excellent culinary skills to wash, prepare and cut the vegetables to make vegetable soup. Some of our pupils were also very brave and tried some new vegetables.
Two pupils went with a member of staff to leave our freshly cut vegetables to our school kitchen to be cooked by our kitchen staff 😀
