As we start our new school year, students have been getting to know the peers and staff within their room. Through team building games, chats during morning tea, and by sharing our weekend news, communication has been encouraged through a variety of mediums.
Students are encouraged weekly to share their news on a Monday morning, and then consolidate this information by writing it in their weekend journals. This has been a great way to further their writing and grammar skills. Through this, students also have the opportunity to expand upon their ICT skills as they locate images from the internet relating to their news, e.g. the type of food they ate, and print these images to stick into their journals.
