Spring is in the air in J4. We are learning all about things that grow and what we need to make them grow. In literacy we read the story of "The Little Red Hen". We acted out the story using puppets and sequenced the parts of the story. Everyone agreed that we need to help our friends not like all the characters in the story who would not help the Little Red Hen. In numeracy we have been counting beans and using different shapes to make flowers. We have been sorting Minibeasts into different categories e.g. wings and no wings. In the world around us we have been learning about the up keep of plants and growing some of our own. Fingers crossed they grow! We looked in the bug hotel in our sensory garden for minibeasts but we only found a few spiders!
