S3 at Seamus Heaney HomePlace
S3 have been very privileged to be involved in Room to Rhyme sessions at the Seamus Heaney HomePlace, Bellaghy. Having followed CCEA lessons on Digging, based on Seamus Heaney’s poem, they were able to explore and interact with many of the resources and artefacts, within these sessions at the centre. The visits enabled the pupils to gain a multi-sensory experience of Seamus Heaney’s life and his poetry. As the pupils were very interested in the poem Mid Term Break, they were provided with many opportunities to link not only with Literacy themes, but also with other curricular areas, to further develop essential life skills, i.e., Road Safety.
Thank you to Bríd and all the team at Seamus Heaney HomePlace.
