Safer internet Day 2021
Today, 9th February is the UK Safer Internet day. With everything that has been going on since this time last year and with us all spending a lot more time online, it is now more important than ever to raise our young people’s awareness of Internet safety.
The theme for 2021 is An Internet we can trust. Exploring reliability in the online world.
Lots of us enjoyed discussing key points, taking part in virtual assemblies and looking at PowerPoint's. Some pupils in our Junior School listened to the story of Digiduck and how important it is to do our research as not everything we see online is reliable. We discussed the importance of asking an adult for help if we ever come across something we are unsure of.
Our older pupils had some valuable discussions on real life scenarios relating to Internet Safety and were able to offer good suggestions to the question "What would you do if?"
Lots of information and videos are available for parents and pupils to access on the UK Safer Internet Centre's Homepage: https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/
