Kilronan School, Magherafelt

Welcome

Welcome to Kilronan School, where we Learn, Grow and Achieve Together. We are a school for children with severe learning difficulties and cater for children from age 3 to 19 years.  From the day a child arrives in Kilronan, we strive to provide each individual with a range of learning opportunities to meet their own needs and abilities.   Assessment is very much part of our planning, teaching and learning cycle. Effective assessment identifies learners’ individual strengths and needs and provides information about pupil progress.

Throughout our website, you will see examples of the curriculum in action, however if you would like to find out more, feel free to contact us.

Safer Internet Video Competition

A group of our senior pupils got together to make a short video for a Safer internet competition. This competition is in conjunction with C2k, Capita and the Eduction Authority, in partnership with the Safeguarding Board for NI and the UK Safer Internet Centre and is aimed to help inform young people of some of the dangers of being online.
We were invited to create a short 1-2 minute video based on the theme "Create, Connect and Share Respect. A Better Internet Starts With You". We had a lot of fun making this video and used our skills and knowledge of Stop Motion animation, Green Screen and iMovie. The pupils learnt a lot of valuable lessons and we had lots of interesting discussions. Please have a look at our video and see how hard we worked. We are looking forward to the Safer Internet Day on 6th February where we will be focusing on how we can stay safe online.
